Where can I use the card?
You can use the Butterfield / AAdvantage® MasterCard® card in Bermuda or abroad, anywhere MasterCard is accepted.
I'd like to request a particular limit for the card. How do I indicate this amount?
You will automatically be given a credit limit when your application is approved. This limit will be the maximum amount that you qualify for, based on the information provided/available.
Do I pay the Butterfield / AAdvantage® MasterCard® credit card bill in Bermuda or US Dollars?
You can choose which currency you would like to use. If you have a source of US funds, it makes sense to pay in USD because you will not pay any FCPT or foreign exchange fees on purchases in USD.
If you pay in Bermuda dollars, the FCPT and foreign exchange charges will be included in your balance. However, any purchases made in Bermuda dollars will not incur these fees.
How are the foreign exchange and FCPT charges calculated and billed?
If you elected to make your credit card payment in Bermuda Dollars, the Bank will automatically charge FCPT (Foreign Currency Purchase Tax) and/or FX (Foreign Exchange) on any applicable purchases. Bermuda Dollar transactions are not subject to FCPT or FX. All FCPT and/or FX will be reflected on your current months statement for purchases made up until and including the 21st of each month (this may vary if the 21st should fall on a weekend or public holiday). One transaction will be posted for the total amount of FCPT owing and one transaction will be posted for the total amount of FX due. The total FCPT and FX charges will be included in the statement balance.
How can I find out how many miles I have?
You can check your updated balance on the American Airlines® web site at www.aa.com.
When will my miles be reported to American Airlines®?
